CRS Online Training


OVERVIEW

Wetlands Watch created online training videos for floodplain management professionals who are interested in learning more about the Community Rating System (CRS) program. Read more about each training below.


CRS Introduction Workshop

This online training includes three training videos and a learning assessment. The workshop is intended to give an introduction to the National Flood Insurance Program, an in-depth overview of the Community Rating System (CRS) Program, and provide insight on what it takes for a locality to join the CRS Program. For Certified Floodplain Managers (CFMs) you can receive 3 continuing education credits (CECs) for completing the training and passing the learning assessment.

The content of this workshop is broken up into three videos:

  • Part 1: Introduction to the NFIP & Risk Rating 2.0

  • Part 2: Introduction to the CRS & How to Join the CRS Program

  • Part 3: CRS Program Costs & Benefits and Program Resources

The cost of this training is $25 and includes access to all three training videos and access to the learning assessment. In total, it will take an estimated 3.5 hours to complete the training videos and learning assessment for this training. Participants do not have to watch all three videos and complete the learning assessment all in one sitting. Participants may watch the videos at their own pace, and then take the learning assessment when they are ready. However, once you begin the learning assessment, you must complete it in one sitting. The learning assessment should not take longer than 30 minutes to complete.

CRS Activity 330 Workshop

This online training includes two training videos and a learning assessment. The workshop is intended to give an overview of Activity 330: Outreach Projects and provide information on how to receive, calculate, and document credit for all four elements within Activity 330. For Certified Floodplain Managers (CFMs) you can receive 2 continuing education credits (CECs) for completing the training and passing the learning assessment.

The content of the workshop is broken up into two videos:

  • Part 1: Outreach Projects & Flood Response Preparations

  • Part 2: Program for Public Information & Stakeholder Delivery

The cost of this training is $25 and includes access to both training videos and access to the learning assessment. In total, it will take an estimated 3 hours to complete the training videos and learning assessment for this training. Participants do not have to watch both videos and complete the learning assessment all in one sitting. Participants may watch the videos at their own pace, and then take the learning assessment when they are ready. However, once you begin the learning assessment, you must complete it in one sitting. The learning assessment should not take longer than 30 minutes to complete.

CRS Activity 450 Workshop

This online training includes two training videos and a learning assessment. The workshop is intended to give an overview of Activity 450: Stormwater Management and provide information on how to receive, calculate, and document credit for all four elements within Activity 450. For Certified Floodplain Managers (CFMs) you can receive 2 continuing education credits (CECs) for completing the training and passing the learning assessment.

The content of the workshop is broken up into two videos:

  • Part 1: Stormwater Management Regulations

  • Part 2: Watershed Master Plan, Erosion and Sediment Control Regulations, & Water Quality Regulations

The cost of this training is $25 and includes access to both training videos and access to the learning assessment. In total, it will take an estimated 2.5 hours to complete the training videos and learning assessment for this training. Participants do not have to watch both videos and complete the learning assessment all in one sitting. Participants may watch the videos at their own pace, and then take the learning assessment when they are ready. However, once you begin the learning assessment, you must complete it in one sitting. The learning assessment should not take longer than 30 minutes to complete.
